Information Collected from Connected Platforms and Legal Basis for Processing

424 Reviews collects and processes publicly available review data from third-party platforms to enable users to display and manage customer feedback within the app.

When you connect your Google or Facebook account, we use OAuth authentication to securely access review content associated with your business. Through these integrations, we may collect and process the following information:

• Reviewer name

• Review text

• Star rating

• Review date (where available)

In addition, 424 Reviews may use automated scraping technology to retrieve publicly visible review data from Etsy. This process collects the same categories of information and does not access or store any private or non-public data from Etsy accounts. All scraping operations are conducted in compliance with Etsy’s publicly available content and fair-use policies.

We do not collect or store user passwords, login credentials, or any non-public information from connected platforms. OAuth authentication is used solely to verify authorization and to retrieve review content in accordance with each platform’s public API permissions and terms of service.

Review data collected through OAuth integrations or scraping is used exclusively for display within the 424 Reviews widget and related services. Review content is not altered, fabricated, or misrepresented in any way. Review data may be cached temporarily for performance optimization and refreshed periodically to ensure accuracy.

If access to a connected platform is revoked or becomes unavailable, associated data will no longer be updated and may be removed in accordance with our data retention policy.

Data Retention

424 Reviews retains review data only for as long as necessary to provide the functionality of the service or as required by law. Cached or stored review content is periodically refreshed or deleted to maintain accuracy and compliance with data protection standards. When you disconnect a platform or request data deletion, related data will be removed from our systems within a reasonable period.

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Compliance)

For users located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or regions with similar data protection laws, the processing of review data is based on legitimate interest, which consists of providing a secure and efficient means for businesses to display and manage publicly available reviews.

Where applicable, we may also rely on consent obtained when you authorize 424 Reviews to access connected platforms via OAuth or similar mechanisms. You may withdraw consent at any time by revoking access through the connected platform’s settings or by contacting us directly.
